IN A NUTSHELL:
Send Help is a tense, emotionally charged survival thriller about two coworkers who crash-land on a remote island after a private jet goes down in the ocean. With limited supplies, growing injuries, and the brutal elements working against them, they must rely on each other, and their faith in human connection to survive. What begins as a battle against nature slowly becomes a story about resilience, forgiveness, and hope.
The film was directed by Sam Raimi, known for his quirky dark humor and horror sensibilities. He dedicated the film to his long-time friend, Scott Spiegel, who recently passed away.

THINGS I LIKED:
-
Both Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien look like they had a blast making this. Rachel McAdams steals the movie, but they both give strong performances that carried emotional depth.
-
Beautiful cinematography of the ocean and island landscapes.
-
A gripping sense of isolation that makes you feel the characters’ desperation.
-
There is thoughtful character development as past mistakes and emotional wounds surface with tension. It’s the psychological drama going back and forth between the characters that’s intriguing as well.
-
A powerful reminder that cooperation and humility can mean the difference between life and death.
- You’ll learn some good survival skills while watching this! An Australian survivalist expert, Kylie Furneaux, consulted with the lead actors to teach them how look believable while tackling various survival skills.
- Have you ever had a boss like that? I have. It’s infuriating working your butt off and being treated so poorly by those “over” you. His condescending laugh made his character’s personality even worse.
- There are some fun jumpscares for viewers who like this genre.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:
-
Some survival choices felt unrealistic.
-
The pacing slowed in Act 2.
-
A few plot moments lessened the suspense with a predictable ending.
- The idiot men at the office infuriated me, mostly because I know they exist in real life. Why are people so cruel to one another?

FUNNY LINES:
“I can do this all day. I’ve got plenty of time. I’ve got nowhere to be.” – Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien)
“Do you ever hunt? I think I like it.” – Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams), dripping in blood

INTERESTING LINES:
“We’re not in the office anymore, Bradley.” – Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams)
“How above and beyond are you willing to go for me?” – Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) & Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien) at different times
“Never mistake my kindness for weakness.” – Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams)
“No help is coming, so you better start saving yourself.” – Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams)
