IN A NUTSHELL:
This festive holiday comedy follows the Jonas Brothers as a series of misadventures threatens to derail their plans to make it home for Christmas on time to be with their families. Packed with musical numbers, celebrity cameos, and plenty of self-aware humor, this movie leans into nostalgia while celebrating the chaos, joy, and togetherness of the Christmas season.
The film was directed by Jessica Yu. The Jonas Brothers also helped produce the movie. This is the kind of movie that’s fun to watch while you’re sequestered in a private room, wrapping all of your Christmas presents.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:
This is a family-friendly holiday film with mild slapstick humor and some playful teasing between siblings. There are a few pop-culture jokes that may go over younger viewers’ heads, but nothing inappropriate. Overall, it’s safe and enjoyable for kids, teens, and parents, especially fans of the Jonas Brothers.
- We see a man and a woman in their underwear, jumping into a river and wandering around. By the way, they jump into a canal in Amsterdam, which I would never do because it has all kinds of gunk in it, including bicycles that fell in! I’ve been to that incredible city many times and love it.
- Brothers bicker.
- Kissing
- Santa Claus works his magic.

THEMES:
- Family and brotherhood
- Forgiveness and teamwork
- Handling disappointments and resentment
- Putting labels on people
- The Christmas spirit
- Home, tradition, and togetherness

THINGS I LIKED:
- If you’re a big fan of the Jonas brothers, you’ll love this. It’s pretty cathartic for fans because we get to see old footage from when the brothers were just kids, starting their careers together. The brothers talk about the real-life struggles they’ve had, while illustrating a healing reunion.
- There’s genuine sibling chemistry between the Jonas Brothers. They are Kevin, Joe, and Nick (in case you didn’t know.) We get to see some of the real-life celebrity wives, too: Priyanka Chopra and Danielle.
- Also in the cast are Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Chloe Bennet, Randall Park, Laverne Cox, KJ Apa, and Billie Lourd. It’s always a joy to see Andrea Martin. She’s so funny. Musician Kenny G gives a quick cameo performance, which is always welcome! Will Ferrell’s cameos at the movie’s opening and closing are pretty funny.
- Catchy, festive musical performances and dance numbers.
- The lighthearted, self-deprecating humor is refreshing.
- A positive message about prioritizing family over fame makes this a hit with parents.
- I love how the brothers can absolutely make fun of themselves.
- It’s always fun to spend time abroad in a movie. In this case, we’re in jolly ‘ole England, Paris, and Amsterdam. The British bar called “The Queens Head” is supposed to be located in London, but it’s actually in Ontario, Canada in real life.
- The holiday decor everywhere definitely gets you in the mood for Christmas.
- Did you know there is an actual Jonas Brothers convention? It’s called JonasCon. The first teaser for this movie was shown at the last JonasCon, which celebrated the group’s 20th anniversary as a band.
- The story reminded me of the plot from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, where two men try desperately to get home for the holidays while experiencing all kinds of shenanigans. I love that movie so much! If you’ve never seen it, watch it tonight!
- The “Wick by Nick” candle idea made me laugh out loud.
- Keep watching during the final rolling credits for more music and a final cameo by Will Ferrell.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:
- Some jokes feel a bit predictable and cheesy.
- The storyline is thin and mostly serves as a setup for musical numbers and self-promotion.
- Non-fans may not connect as strongly with the humor or references from the Jonas Brothers’ real life.

FUNNY LINES:
- “This is not how the Christmas card was supposed to go.”
- “We rehearsed for everything… except this.”
- While racing to a train in Paris, one of them asks his brothers, “Do you think we have time for a song?” Another brother instantly agrees, saying, “Sure!” And then another musical number commences.

INTERESTING LINES:
- “Christmas isn’t about perfection; it’s about being together.”
- “No matter how far you go, home still matters.”
