Tis The Season For Christmas Movies and Santa Letters

Yep!  We are only 49 days away from Christmas!  Can you believe it?  We’ve all been in a serious time warp this year with Covid, quarantines, natural disasters, and election craziness.  I’m ready for some Christmas cheer!  How about you?!

I just reviewed my first Christmas movie of the season the other day called The Santa Box.  I just received a press screener for another Christmas movie today, so here we go!  It’s called “The Forgotten Carols” and I’m soooo excited about it because it originally was an album, then a stage play, and now a feature film.  I’m really crossing my fingers that it’s awesome because I love the music so much.  Stay tuned for that movie review!

What is your favorite Christmas movie?  Do you watch the same ones every year or eagerly embrace the new ones that hit the market?  Please comment below.  I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Before I go any further, let me introduce you to the man in the pictures in this post.  He’s a dear friend of mine from many years ago, back when both of our families lived in Georgia.  His name is Joe Pridgen and I adore the man.  He’s all about love and laughter, just like the real Santa Clause!  He has fully embraced the Santa Clause persona and shares so many awesome pictures each year.  And yes, that is his real beard and mustache!

One thing I love about Santa Clause is that he is all about GIVING and SERVING.  What a great role model for our kids.  He is the embodiment of sharing and caring.  I found a wonderful company that offers a pretty cool service that you might be interested in if you have young kids.  It’s called Santa Letters.

Hardly anyone writes “real” letters that come in the mail these days, making this unique gift extra special.  You can order a certified letter from Santa or even add it to a package they help you create with all kinds of goodies.  What’s fun is that the company stamps its packages from 325 S. Santa Claus Lane, North Pole, Arkansas.  Super cute.

What’s even nicer (Santa would never be on the “naughty” list!) is that they donate 10% of all profits to Toys for Tots!  Sweet!  It’s such a fun idea.  When I was a little girl, Santa would always leave me and my sisters a letter next to the plate of cookies we left for him by the fireplace.  I was so impressed that such a busy man would take the time to write to us!  It absolutely made an impression on me.  Of course, he always ate the cookies and left the plate empty.  I was sure he shared some of them with the reindeer.

When my kids were little, I would have them write a letter to Santa, asking for a few specific items they wanted and then explaining all of the good they did during the year.  I told them I would personally forward those letters to Santa since I knew him.  My kids are all in their 20’s but I still ask them to write those letters.  It’s a fun tradition, an effective way to gather gift ideas for parents, and an inspiring way to reflect on the past year’s events.  You might even want to use that tradition idea for your own family!

Traditions are really important in unifying families, building memories, and even honoring your heritage.  What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions?  I’d love to read them, so be sure to comment below!

And before I sign off for today, here’s another amazing picture of my favorite Santa’s helper!
