IN A NUTSHELL:
Earth is in chaos again as asteroids rain down and cities continue to collapse. The Abbott family fights to survive in a thrilling race against time. High-stakes action meets heartwarming family courage in this gripping disaster sequel.
The film was directed by Ric Roman Waugh. Writing credits go to Mitchell LaFortune and Chris Sparling.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:
-
Intense disaster sequences may scare younger viewers.
-
Some language and tense moments, but no excessive gore.
-
Great discussion starter for bravery, sticking together, and helping others in crisis.
- We see a lot of people die.
- Some blood
- Lots of destruction

THEMES:
- Hope
- Survival
- Human resilience
- Family: When the world shakes, family is your strongest anchor!
- Trust
- Suffering
- Humanity
- Uncertainty

THINGS I LIKED:
• I really liked the first Greenland movie because it seemed pretty realistic and was loaded with suspenseful moments and emotional drama. Between the two films, I’d say I probably like the first one better, but they’re both exciting and action-filled with great special effects.
- If it’s been too long since you’ve seen the first one, the good news is that we get a short recap of what happened.
- Strong family teamwork and heartwarming moments
• Realistic and thrilling disaster effects
• Balanced pacing—action and emotion together - Everyone works together and is kind until…they don’t. That’s probably realistic in a life-or-death situation for most people.
- Nice music.
- I got a kick out of the “Would you rather…?” questions game. My family plays that too.
- The movie was filmed in Hampshire, UK. I’m always impressed when studios can turn a real place into a post-apocalyptic setting.
- The movie isn’t just about trying to live in a world or build a new one, but what to live FOR.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:
- This movie was never intended to win an Oscar. Some parts are ridiculous, but if you let go of what you think is impossible, you’ll enjoy it. There are some plot holes with details that don’t make sense, so just try not to focus on those.
- Some predictable plot twists.
- This sure is one lucky and determined family.
- In the first movie, we felt an emotional attachment to the family. If you’ve seen it, you’ll still feel connected to them. If you haven’t, not so much. A lot of other characters come and go, but we just don’t have enough time to get to know them or care about them.

FUNNY LINES:
• “I always wanted a trip that would shake the planet, just not like this!”

INTERESTING LINES:
- “It’s not easy moving past certain things.” – (Gerard Butler)
- “We tried rebuilding, but the world wasn’t ready.” – (Gerard Butler)
- “We find joy wherever we can…together.” – (Gerard Butler)
- “Tomorrow belongs to you…all of you. Safe journey on.” – (Gerard Butler)
