RATING:   R

LENGTH: 1 hour 41 minutes

IN A NUTSHELL:

Screen Media presents a bloody, horror movie about a woman who is left handcuffed to her dead husband in their snowy cabin as part of a sick revenge plot. Unable to unshackle, she has to survive as two killers arrive to finish her off.  Emma (Megan Fox) is stuck in a stale marriage to Mark and is surprised when he whisks her away to their secluded lake house for a romantic evening on their 10th anniversary. But everything soon changes, and Emma finds herself trapped and isolated in the dead of winter, the target of a plan that gets more sinister at every turn.

THINGS I LIKED:

  • I had heard that Megan Fox was blackballed from Hollywood, but she has still been pumping out a lot of movies recently.  If you love her, be sure to Click here to see my movie review of Rogue.  In this movie, her character is intentionally very robotic in Act 1, so I was happy to finally see some emotion out of her moving forward.
  • Some jumps and scares that will make you laugh.
  • I kept wondering what I would do in that situation.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:

  • You spend the majority of the movie looking at a gory, dead man being dragged around by a bloodied Megan Fox.  Most people would immediately wipe off any blood splatters they got on them, right?
  • The timeline may be a little bit confusing at the beginning for some viewers.
  • Why are people in horror movies so stupid?
  • Is it me or do the two leading men look alike?
  • Lots of plot holes.
  • It’s hard to relate to the main character because she’s ridiculously rich, beautiful, and an adulterer.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:

  • This is not a movie for children because of the content.  Plus, kids will be super bored.
  • Super bloody
  • A couple starts to go at it on a bed (clothed)
  • Lots of cleavage and skimpy clothes (Megan Fox)
  • Profanity and lots of F-bombs
  • Violence

THEMES:

  • Control & power
  • Revenge
  • Marriage
  • Loyalty & Infidelity
  • Greed
  • Tenacity
  • The will to live

FUNNY LINES:

* “Is this because of us?” –   guy  (Aml Ameen)     “I’m pretty sure it’s because he’s insane.” –    Emma    (Megan Fox)

INTERESTING LINES:

  • “We manage the truth.” –   guy        (Aml Ameen)
