This dramatic action movie is available in theaters and VOD on July 15, 2022.

RATING:    R

LENGTH:      1 hour 36 minutes

MOVIE REVIEW MOM GRADE:   C-

IN A NUTSHELL:

A methamphetamine cook hunts down the former Police chief of a small town in order to silence him before he can deliver eyewitness testimony against his family but ultimately finds himself up against more than he had bargained for.

THINGS I LIKED:

  • I’ve been a fan of Bruce Willis for decades.  I’m so sorry to hear that he has been diagnosed with Aphasia.  All of his latest movies seem to be a cash grab before he’s no longer to make movies anymore and they’ve all been terrible.  Even still, I completely understand his desire to stay in the game as long as he can.  There were a few times when I could see his performance affected by his health issues.  I’m disappointed that he’s not choosing better scripts and film projects but I absolutely wish him well.
  • The soundtrack is good but often overpowers what’s happening on the screen.  The director, Mike Burns, used to be a music supervisor, so I can see why the music is such a big part of the movie.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:

  • I hate it when people who are obviously dead seem to turn up alive later on.
  • So much Botox and plastic surgery.
  • The villains are really stupid.  They’re more annoying than truly dangerous.  There is sort of a comical “Home Alone” feeling to the villains.
  • A woman who has been going through cancer treatments has a full head of long hair.  Now, I know that not all cancer treatments result in hair loss, but they didn’t even try to make this woman look sick.
  • Some bad acting moments.
  • Fake-looking blood.
  • There are some attempts at humor, but none of them really land.
  • The action sequences are pretty lame.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:

  • Drunk driving
  • Lots of profanity and F-bombs
  • We see a car crash
  • Bloody deaths
  • Hostages
  • A lesbian relationship is featured
  • Violence
  • Various weapons

THEMES:

  • Revenge
  • Family
  • Cancer
  • Guilt
  • Be prepared

FUNNY LINES:

* “This is some KKK shxx.” –  Captain East   (Texas Battle)

INTERESTING LINES:

* “When you think about death as much as I have, you’re no longer afraid of it.” –  Chloe   (Ashley Greene)
